Pliers, Mandrels, and More!
It can be intimidating to build your tool kit, but don't worry! You can get right to wrapping and weaving with just a few tools: wire snips, round nose pliers, flat nose, bent nose, and nylon jaw pliers. Everything else is just extra, though I'm not gonna lie: having the right tool for the job makes things much easier, but is not necessary to make great jewelry!
Beyond Wire
The images below are just a few of the things I like to incorporate with my wire wrapping and weaving. Beautiful cabochons, interesting bezel wire, and fun charms can really take your work to the next level!
I shop for a lot of my gemstones directly from the manufactures or wholesalers on eBay, etsy, amazon, and www.firemountaingems.com
If I could make a recommendation, I would advise to have a ruler with you as you sit down to shop. Especially on eBay, images and carat sizes listed can be very misleading. 32 carats may sound like a lot, but often the stone is only around 25mm. Shop carefully and mindfully, and as you experience sellers that you like working with, save their info to make your next shopping trip that much smoother.
